Two boards made for the Devonport Squash Club. Quite a commitment from them to go with 24k gold, but the effect is magic.

One of two new Life members boards done for the Belmont Park Bowling Club. I made the board from an existing one so there would be continuity in the boards.

A new board for the Navy. Gold leaf header with CC lettering.

I was approached to refurbish an honours board for Chelsea Sugar. This board commorates the employees of the company that served during The Great War.
The board was in reasonably good condition given it's age and it really wasn't an option to strip the board right back and start everything again as the provenance and patina of the board would be lost.
To this end I very gently cleaned the board, took off a lot of the old lacquer and proceeded to replace the gold and surrounding paint.
Below is a photo of the board before I started.

Below is the obligatory 'before and after' images. Re-applying 24ct gold leaf and refreshed borders and shades. Oil based enamel and also a laquer with stain for the shadow effect.

A couple of images of work in progress

The finished board which is hanging in the Bikenhead War Memorial Hall. It was a real proviledge to be able to bring this board back to its former glory. Hopefully good for the next 100 years.
